V International Conference of Development Studies (V CIED)


The V International Conference on Development Studies (V CIED) is an initiative of the Spanish Network of Development Studies (REEDES), and is organized by Hegoa, Institute for International Cooperation and Development Studies of the University of the Basque Country (UPV / EHU). Due to the crisis triggered by Covid-19, the conference will take place in virtual modality from 27 to 29 May 2020. Further information is available at the Conference website https://vcied.org/.

This section describes the general terms and conditions to register for the V CIED.

Regarding issues related to management and protection of personal data and the use of the website, please check our privacy policy and our legal notice respectively.

The registration process is carried out within the computing platform https://vcied.org/.

The user declares to have legal capacity to act and contract on the website in accordance with the general terms detailed below.

According to its privacy policy, and regarding the use of personal data provided by applicants, https://tickets.vcied.org is committed to respecting their confidentiality, to use them exclusively for the purpose for which they were sent, as well as to fulfil the obligations to save them, and to take any measures necessary to avoid them being altered, lost, used or accessed without authorization in accordance with current legislation on personal data protection.

https://tickets.vcied.org is an online registration service, available 24 hours a day, where you can register for the V CIED from your computer via the internet.

Registrations for the V CIED are governed by the following general terms and conditions and any kind of special terms and conditions that could be published on the Conference website.

Each person wishing to register for the conference is responsible for facilitating his/her data correctly in the registration processes established on the website. Special attention must be paid to both entering banking and personal data and to documentary accreditation for validation of the different types of registrations.

Registrations are subject to authorization check on the payment card and other verification and validation processes judged appropriate. If transactions fail validation processes, they shall be cancelled. We reserve the right to cancel any transaction which is reasonable to suspect in view of the above.

In order to register for the V CIED through the website, you should take several simple steps explained below.

In the first place, you must select the type of registration you want to. After that, the computing platform will allow you to select the number of registrations you want to make, and will give you the option “Registration” in order to follow the fulfilment process and further payment.

As registrations are nominative, before following your purchase process, you will have to facilitate the identifying data (Name, surname/s, and Tax Identification Number) of all those who are to register. We recommend you to have in advance all the necessary data before acceding to the platform and proceeding with the final registration payment.

Secondly, it is required to fill out a registration form which is made up of two parts. The first one collects data of the natural or legal person making the payment (billing details), and the second one makes reference to data or the person or persons who are going to register for the Conference. During this process, please follow the instructions as indicated on the website, and facilitate the data required throughout the whole process. In order to continue with the registration, the present Terms and Conditions will have to be accepted.

In case you enjoy any kind of discount or special rate, we will ask you to provide certain supporting documentation. The registration process will not be complete until that documentation has been reviewed by the Conference Organization.

In the third place, the computing platform will give you the option of “Continue to registration” in order to follow with the registration process. At this moment, you will have to introduce the payment details that you want to use, and to proceed with the payment of the registration through the tab “To pay for your order”.

Payments may be made by credit or debit card. In any case, the user making the registration process must be the card holder. After confirming that the payment details entered in the system are true and correct, the charge of the registration rate through the means of payment used must be accepted. With the sending of the form (by a click) once you have completed it, the contracting process will finish telematically.

Finally, the website will send you an email with your registration details at the email address that you provided in the registration form. In anticipation of the possibility that the email could be considered as spam, please check your spam email folder.

In the event of a detection on any failure of the transaction, it shall be notified as soon as possible.

In the event of a detection of an error in the price of the registration or any other aspect of this registration, it shall be notified as soon as possible. If you decide to cancel your registration, you will be entitled to a full refund of the price paid for it within fifteen (15) working days of the date the error was notified.


Registration rates for the V CIED, published on the Conference webpage, include taxes, and they are the following:

A = Reduced rate: until 10th May 2020.
B = Standard rate: until 24th May 2020.

As indicated above, registration validations will be carried out taking into consideration both the registration type undertaken and the documentary accreditation required in each case. At the time of carrying out the registration, it is required to attach all the necessary documentation in order to accredit the selected rate:

  • (1) In case of being a member of an institutional partner of REEDES, attach to the registration a document certifying this condition, signed by the person in charge / director / president of the institution                   
  • (2) When registering for the Conference, attach the “REEDES Registration form” available at the following link: http://reedes.org/asociate/
  • (3) When registering for the Conference, attach a document certifying unemployment or student status. If, in addition, you are a member of a partner institution of REEDES, you must also attach the document detailed in (1).
  • (4) When registering for the Conference, attach the document certifying unemployment or student status and the “REEDES registration form”, available at the following link: http://reedes.org/asociate/.

If, depending on the type of registration selected, any of the above required supporting documents is not provided, your registration can be cancelled by the Organization.


In order to pay your registration in a secure way, the payment method is by credit or debit card.

You can pay by Visa, Visa Electron, MasterCard, American Express, 6000 cards, and your transaction will be redirected to the virtual TPV OF REDSYS, where, under a secure environment, owned by the bank, you will be asked the data required for the undertaken of the payment under the maximum security measures. Those data are never registered on our server. When making the payment by that means, you are confirming the ownership of your card.

The payment service by credit card is managed by a credit entity. Therefore, Hegoa takes no responsibility for the confidentiality and security of the information and data provided by the User with the aim of the purchase, since the treatment of such information and data is not exclusively under its control.


The Organization of the Conference reserves all intellectual property and image rights of the event. Consequently, any filming, recording, or reproduction of such event is prohibited unless expressed consent of the Organization.

The Organization of the V CIED commits itself to carry out the event in a virtual modality by means of available systems and technical resources.

Participants are expected both to be punctual for the activities of the V CIED and to take responsibility for the use of the tools made available by the Organization.


The registration payment for the V CIED provides access to all event activities in virtual format. The programme of activities will be announced in due time by the Organization of the Conference. The information will be sent via email to every registered person and will be published on the website: https://vcied.org/.
